tips for Buyers
Fancy grabbing a load of bargains from independent creative businesses? You've come to the right place! In October 2021 lots of lovely indie makers will be flinging their virtual doors open to offer their lovely, creative goods for sale! Here are some answers to some FAQs about Super Seconds Saturday especially for you as the buyer! Let me know via email or Instagram if you have any other questions - I'm always happy to help!
How do I buy?
All 250 makers involved are included in the catalogue here! The catalogue is split into 9 categories (Jewellery, ceramics, kids stuff, homeware, accessories, fabric goods, pins, prints & cards and marvellous makers (who make multiple things!) so you'll be able to easily find the maker you're looking for!
Once you've found a maker you want to buy from, click on their photo - each maker has a link to their website/Etsy/Instagram where you'll be able to find what they have on offer for Super Seconds Saturday and you can buy direct from the makers!
You can also check out the hashtag #supersecondssaturday on Instagram to browse the makers involved! But be sure to check the catalogue so you don't miss out on all makers involved!
Are you a person who loves to plan?
Me too! That's why I'll be creating planning sheets for the October event! Check out the ones buyers used in February to give you an idea of what to expect!
Top Tips for buyers
Plan your Super Seconds Saturday experience ahead if possible! All makers have a 10am kick off time and some makers sold out SUPER QUICK last time (some in 30 mins!). There will be 250 makers to choose from so it's worth planning who you're going to first so you don't miss out!
Use the printable planning sheet on offer beforehand for buyers - use it to plan who you want to visit! See the link just above these boxes to download it!
Ask makers questions in the run to the event on Instagram! They may be able to tell you what kind of things they have on offer (and some may even be able to reserve something for you - but keep in mind that not everyone is able to do this!).
If you do miss out on the 10am start- don't fret! A lot of makers will be running their Super Seconds Saturday sale all weekend and will likely state this on their Instagram.
A lot of makers will be joining in with the #supersecondssaturday hashtag challenge on Instagram on the run up so you can get to know them (and what they have on offer) better before the big day!

Quotes from buyers on what they loved last time:
"Everything! It was like browsing through a craft market from the comfort of home. The 'auction' style sales with previews and competing buyers were great but a bit nerve-wracking! I've found lots of wonderful new makers that I'd never have seen without them taking part and I'm sure I'll be buying some of their lovely things in the near future. Can't wait for SSS round 2!"
"There was such a buzz on the day and I picked up some amazing bargains. I found shops I’d never heard of before too! I can’t wait for the next one!"
"I follow many of the sellers on Instagram and was chuffed to bits to get a seconds item as it really felt like I got a one off at an incredible price...makes it really special!"
"The opportunity to to buy from sellers normally out of my price range. The perfect chance to treat myself"
"It was a fantastic opportunity to get a seconds version of something limited edition that I'd missed out on - #SuperSecondsSaturday made that possible - I'm so happy!!!"
"It was great to support independent makers and reduce waste at the same time. You can barely see the flaws in the items I bought so they were such a bargain!"
